BOARD BUILDERS SKATE CAMP

BELLWOOD

Currently Sold Out (Returns 2026)

June 16 - June 20 & July 14 - July 18

9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

  • This is Chicago's only camp where campers don't just skate — the build, design, and create the very things they ride. Sold out for 2025, but returning next year - get ready for an unmatched skateboarding experience!

  • From beginners to experienced skaters, our expert instructors can guide campers through fundamental and advanced techniques alike. With a private outdoor and indoor skate facility, we have plenty of room and a multitude of ramp sizes to help riders of all skill levels progress at their own pace.

  • Our warehouse is split into two sections: part-skatepark and part-wood shop! Explore our skateboard manufacturing facility and learn the process of building a skateboard from start-to-finish. Campers will get direct, hands-on experience crafting a custom skateboard and painting their own graphic.

  • Take the fun home! Campers will design, build, and decorate their very own mini skateboard ramp during the camp. At the end of the camp, they can take the ramp home with them to continue practicing their skills.

  • Our Skate & Build Camp goes far beyond simply building ramps and boards. We’ve developed a comprehensive curriculum that teaches campers the science, engineering, and craftsmanship behind real skateboard manufacturing and ramp construction.

Through a mix of guided lessons, interactive workbooks, and hands-on projects, campers gain a deep, practical understanding of:

    • The key components and materials used to build skateboards and ramps

    • The tools and techniques required for precise, high-quality craftsmanship

    • The step-by-step process of building a skateboard deck and constructing a functioning mini-ramp

    • The importance of planning, safety, and structural integrity when creating something new

But more than just technique, our camp teaches what it truly takes to build something from scratch. Campers experience the value of patience, attention to detail, and thoughtful planning—and learn how those qualities impact the final result. By the end of the week, each camper will walk away with new skills, a deeper appreciation for the craft, and a custom-built piece of skate equipment they made themselves.

  • Make sure your camper is ready for a full day of skating and building:

    • Skateboard, helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards. Don't have a board? No problem. We offer free skateboard and protective gear rental for all campers.

    • Packed lunch (brought daily)

    • Water bottle (we have an on-site cooler for unlimited refills)

    • Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for skateboarding. We recommend jean shorts or similar durable clothing to provide better protection while skating.

We also provide extra refreshments throughout the day, including juice boxes and popsicles to help beat the heat.

  • At the end of camp, parents have the option to purchase their child’s custom-made skateboard:

    • Deck only – $55
Perfect as a keepsake or to set up with your own hardware.

    • Complete setup – $155
Fully assembled with trucks, wheels, grip, and ready to ride.

Each board is one-of-a-kind, built and designed by your camper during the week.

  • Full Week: $599.

    Max Number of Skaters: 15
